My heart is thrilled with gratitude both toward God and you for your prayers and investment in the “Togo Gospel Light” ministry. I desire to thank you and to share with you what the Lord has done these two past months. Matthew and I arrived safe and sound and after the first three weeks we are settled in a rented house here in Baguida, a suburb of Lome. God had laid on heart three places in Lome (Akodessewa, Baguida, Kodjoviakope) to plant a church. Therefore, when I got back, I tried to begin the church planting work in Kodjoviakope but the door was closed. Then, I surveyed the area of Baguida, which is 9 miles away from Kodjoviakope. After prayer and counsel with my national pastor, Pastor Sossa, I felt that God was leading me to Baguida. On August 1st, we moved to Baguida.into the rented house that God had provided for us. On August 7th, we began the VBS in Baguida with around thirty children. The Lord has blessed it to grow and the total enrollment was 175 children. I have had the opportunity to teach and present the gospel to them. Many of them have trusted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord. Last Sunday, September 2nd, we had our first Sunday School meeting in the garage with twenty children attending. Since the beginning, some Togolese friends have volunteered to help me start the ministry and they have encouraged me greatly. It is exciting to see what the Lord is doing and I want to thank you all for your prayer, support and partnership with me in the gospel ministry in Togo!
